Muse

Never visits at a convenient hour

Very fickle words anxious to devour

Use her expediently and thank her well

Rather suffer her wrath of writer's block hell

I want to be an author

I want to be an author
I fear that I am not
I want to be an author
Though here I sit and rot
For all my wanting
There is a deadly haunting
A thing of my own making
Something that is my breaking
Time is not my friend
Closer I am to my end
Nothing in my way
Nothing more to say

I want to be an author…

I was born before my time
A girl not in this rhyme
off and often mistaken
for the lady who was broken
It's a shameful site to see
those who would not let me
be..........
the mistress I was born to be
walk back into the night
avoiding the mob mentality fright
for those who seek to destroy you
are ones who would never support you
Miss the heart that is the blackest
This makes
you the ultimate fascist
don't follow me I am not a martyr
your weakness is the thing that matters
My dark heart will take flight and bloom
never underestimate my gloom
wills be counted for this is the time
When the down trodden will sing their rhyme.

Twas the night before Christmas spoof...( the interview)

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through Facebook,
All my friends were posting glad tidings, it was quite a good look
The memes were all posted on the timelines with care,
In hopes that many likes soon would be there,

The groups were nestled all snug in their spots,
While visions of new members made them laugh a lot,
And Mama on her game, and I on my page,
had just started to surf and see what was all the rage.

When over on YouTube there arose such a clatter,
I opened a new window to see what was the matter,
Away to the tab I clicked like a flash,
paused and I buffered and tagged with a hash
the news on the screen of my new purchased tablet
gave the idea that this was much more than a habit,

When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
A Movie I thought I wouldn't see this year,

With two comedians so lively and quick,
Rogen and Franco, pretty cool, and slick,
More actors on screen, one by one they came,
one by one as they appeared I shouted their names

On Franco, On Rogen, On Caplan, On Park,
On Bang, On Simons, Alexander ...what a lark!

As stars that before the red carpet walk ,
When going to a premiere to reporters they talk,
Up on my fifty inch screen, this film I viewed,
With my family and friends, and the family dog too,
And finally, in a zip, I saw on my tv,
The banging ending I thought I would never see.
As I held my breath and was turning up the sound,
A glorious last few minutes drew applause all around

Our eyes, how they twinkled, our dimples...how merry,
Our wine was like roses, but really was vodka with cherries!

Our mouths were all drawn up like a bow,
And we all raised a glass to what we now know
The message of freedom we hold tight in our minds,
Should not be stifled, lest we fall behind

We paused for a moment then tossed back our drinks
We smiled knowing that laughter was our link
We were cozy and full, satisfied with our choice,
and I laughed each time I remembered each comics voice
with a vodka drink, and a shaking of hands,
Led me to know by watching we took a small stand.

I spoke not a word but went straight to replay,
And said one more round, what the heck it's Christmas day,

So refilling each glass, and settling down,
we sat on the couch and turned up the surround,

I sat in my spot, and chilled with my crew,
As we watched for the second time...The Interview.
But I heard everyone exclaim, as the opening credits rolled,
This movie is funny...let's load a bowl!

Right here

Right here let's stay young for eternity

Right here where our souls entwine

Right here let's dance Amongst the Stars

Right here remember the way it is

Right here before, before, never, ever after

Right here the battle's lost yet we won

Right here cry for the place where we live

You and I....

Right here.

Robin Williams tribute

The funniest, most talented man in the world went beyond the veil today. I am very saddened by his passing. I know some of you would say...he was just a celebrity, you didn't even know him. That is fine. I feel how I feel.  He brought me much laughter when I thought I couldn't laugh any more.  So love this or hate it but this is what I feel and I feel compelled to share.

Why did you leave us and go forever away
Who will make me laugh as you did in your special way
I know we never met, mourning to some seems ridiculous
You helped ease my pain, getting to watch you was fortuitous
I will never understand what could have been going on
I can only hope that your pain, is now, eternally gone
You were more than a jester, a clown, or an actor
You lifted me up when I was drowning...when I needed laughter
I thank God for technology so I can at least replay those memories
Though ,now, when I watch, it will be with a bittersweet longing ease
I hope you have been welcomed by friends and family gone on before
I will manage to laugh, even if it is with a heart that is slightly sad and sore
So exit stage left…..Comedy King
You left em wanting more

Remember, honor, and celebrate

I come to you today not for you to read my work but for you to remember a great and powerful soul.  I would hope that everyone at this point in time knows who Maya Angelou is but if you don't I would like to give you an opportunity to read a bit of her work. One of my favorites... Phenomenal Woman.
Rest in peace great lady.

Phenomenal Woman

By Maya Angelou
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms,
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.

Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them,
They say they still can’t see.
I say,
It’s in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing,
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need for my care.
’Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
